Clitterhouse Community Mosaic Project
Sponsor a tile from The Clitterhouse Community Mosaic Project
A vibrant community initiative dedicated to celebrating the rich heritage of Clitterhouse Farm. Our project will bring the legacy to life through stunning mosaics that will adorn the window panels and door of the farm building - most notably the birthplace of the suffragette Gladice Keevil.
Clitterhouse Farm has a remarkable past. Over the centuries it has served as part of St Bartholomew's Hospital, functioned as a dairy farm, and even witnessed aviation history when Handley Page tested Britain's first bombers here. It was also home to Hendon FC before evolving into the thriving community space we know today. By creating theses mosaics, we aim to honour and preserve this history while raising awareness of the farm’s significance.
Each mosaic panel will represent a different chapter in the farm's history. The first panel will pay tribute to the courageous suffragette Gladice Keevil, followed by additional panels arranged in chronological order. As we embark on this journey, we invite you to be part of this lasting tribute to our shared heritage.
We are crafting the tiles for the suffragette mosaic on site, and with your generous support, we can complete this first panel and begin work on the next.
Sponsor a tile and have your name inscribed on a plaque near the suffragette mosaic - a permanent reminder that this project was made possible by our community’s support.
